Story Behind the Song
This spoken word piece is based on an actual experience. The year was 1995 and I was living in London, Ontario. One night I was standing on the corner at the bus stop in my club clothes and this guy pulls over thinking I am a hooker and won't take no for an answer. At least not until the bus showed up and I proved by getting on it that I REALLY was not a prostitute. This was my response to that man and that incident. I performed it at my first ever spoken word show in June of 1996 and it continues to be a crowd favorite to this day. It has been released this year (2000) as part of the "Unheard Of..." CD compilation by Toronto-based press Tupperware Sandpiper.
