    Story Behind the Song
The chorus and first verse were written by Mel Alexander. They don't need any explaining.
Verse two was written by Ken about how Northrop Electronics would tell designers in the early 80's that there was enough work til "2000". Right after that, the lay-offs started. It is a common ploy of companies to keep employees from jumping ship when before
    it sinks.

Verse three...well everyone knows a leech or two. You know, the people who always think the world owes them a living.

It was recorded in the Underground. Preacher flew in from Dallas to do the vocals and everyone laid their sweetening afterwards.

    Lyrics
THAT'S WHY WE ALL HAVE THE BLUES

    Our president says "Go Slow"
Representatives say "It's gonna be alright"
But they ain't hurtin' for nuthin'
And their moneys not gettin' real tight

    Chorus:
    Conciousness of what is lacking
That's why we all have the blues
You know it hurts me so bad to know
    The little man always lose

My company says "Work is plenty"
    And we shouldn't no more
But soon as things get a little tight
It's me they show the door

    CHORUS

    I got a friend who's always "needy"
There ain't nuthin' he won't take
But I had enough of that song
I ain't fattening no more frogs for snakes
