	Story Behind the Song Inspired by two encounters. One was the movie "Dead Man Walking" directed by Tim Robbins. Great Flick! Very slow but it works well that way. I love the facial expressions throughout the film. Every smile, frown, and tear is filled with so much emotion. The dramas of guilt, redemption, and mortality are played out so well by Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon. I was really drawn to the idea of leaving this world with a face of love being the last thing you see. That's how I want to go. The second incident that inspired the song was when "Monkey", Lance's dog, died in his living room unexpectedly. He had come down with kidney failure at a young age and died within days of being diagnosed with it. Everyone who was close to "Monkey" gathered around him as he left us. Because he was surrounded by love, it made the experience very peaceful for him. There was no fear and no regrets. Only a soul leaving this dimension and entering another. Perhaps as another being. Lyrics no regrets. no uncertainties. no unknowns. except the door in front of me. save a dance. kiss me one more time. let's celebrate. the temporary gift of life. may the last thing you see be a face of love. may the last thing you see be a face of love. open arms. i will welcome you. knowing that. i've done all that i can do. i'm transcending. i may dissappear into the untouched sky. but only for a while. remember me. i'm still wandering 'round. patiently. until the next time i am found.
