Story Behind the Song
Actually I wrote it about a vivid dream I had about waking up in my bed - but not my bedroom. I was lying next to a man who I loved sooooooo desperately, and as I was lying next to him he appeared to be an angel.
As the sunlight beamed in the window and drenched us in brightness it all felt so perfect. But I got scared and felt I didn't deserve it, so I left...
But then I wished I'd stayed because I really loved him more than anything and deep down I know I do deserve true love as much as anybody, and I deserve to find my angel.
Lyrics
Sun shining woke me up still in your room.
You held me smiling and dreaming.
Oh and whatever did I do?
Do I deserve this feeling?
I could have lost my head over you
But I was wrong, wrong, wrong.
I left you there sleeping alone.
I was wrong
But whatever did I think?
Why am I stumbling?
I deserve as much as anyone.
I deserve as much as anyone.
Chorus:
Sunday!
I opened my eyes and you looked like an angel
Sunday!
I think youre the one, its so hard to believe it
I could have lost my head over you.
You held me smiling and dreaming.
Oh, and whatever made me move
away from your glorious being?
I want to be wanted, but do I want you?
For so long, long, long
I have wished for somebody like you
for too long.
But how do I know this thing
is whats kept me waiting?
I deserve as much as anyone.
I deserve as much as anyone.
