    Story Behind the Song
This track derived from Scott Ruston's love of the westerns and Ennio Morricone's film scores. Scott's atonal narrative vocals give this song the feel of a modern update on Lee Marvin's 'Wanderin' Star', with Morricone's influence embedded in the production. The "cowboy" footsteps complete with spur noises at the beginning of the song are actually two individual samples recorded by tying a set of keys to a shoe, then treading in a cat litter tray (clean, of course)! The music box at the end of the track was a recording of Andrew's mother's jewellery box. Backing vocals are by both Andrew Morrison and Fraser Kennedy.

    Lyrics
Small dog chewing some man's hand
As he passes the Hotel Grand
Not quite sure what's the plan
He's a long way from his father's land

Lights up a butt and takes a drag
Can't recall the last meal he had
Pulls a drink from his sleeping bag
Folks look down - they know he's bad

Sees a place called Moe's Saloon
He knows it's gonna be pay day soon
Looking for a man called Carlos Moon
Shoots him down in the back of the room

Across the plains of El Paso
    Over the mountains of Mexico
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home

Across the skies of San Pedro
    Through the towns of Antonio
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home

    Across the rivers of Angelo
    Under the moon of Salvador
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home

Across the rivers of San Angelo
    Under the moons of Salvador
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home

Across the skies of San Pedro
    Through the towns of Antonio
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home

Across the plains of El Paso
    Over the mountains of Mexico
    Looking for somewhere to go
For the man with no home
