The seminal electro-acoustic work Mysteries (I, II and III) created a musical landmark when it was first performed in 1974 at London's City University. Composer A.A.Owen had created a work of 'startling originality', quite unlike anything that had gone before: here was the dawn of a new age. The natural coming together of the various strands from his musical background - African music (he was raised in Africa), the Blues, and his rigorous classical training with the legendary French teacher Nadia Boulanger - gave the world a first glimpse of what is now called New Age Music. When you hear it, however, Mysteries simply defies categorisation. | MP3.com CD: Following The Light - buy it!
