	Story Behind the Song After two years together, my girlfriend and I came to the difficult realization that our relationship had lost its spark and we'd moved into that comfortable yet unfulfilling mode as a passionless couple. Soon after, I wrote "Charity Says" as a way to deal with the difficult transition from lovers to friends that we were forced to make.
