Happy, joyous, disco Top 40-style rock song from the early 1980's, composed by John David Thomas around 1982 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA; 3-part harmonies on vocals (1 female lead, plus male backup vocals), hot lead guitar solo in mid-section, features John David Thomas on his Oberheim synthesizer in this 1983 recording in "700 West" recording studio on famous Highway 40, near Greenfield, Indiana. This is a great "dance" song, and is equally enjoyable in your hi-fi CD player, or in your car CD system or even the kids' Ghetto Blaster (Boom Box)...John sent this to ABBA, the world-famous disco group in Stockholm, Sweden, and they DID listen to it!!! (Sorry, no cigars)...this is mainstream rock from "ages past", but still fun to listen to...check it out...buy the CD!!

    Story Behind the Song
This very positive, upbeat song came into John David Thomas's mind while he was sleeping on the couch one night...a vivid musical dream came into his head, and he awoke with this melody still in his mind...he wrote a quick "music sketch", just to preserve the moment...later, he wrote the lyrics of this delightful Top 40-style disco love song! And the rest is history!! It was recorded in Mo Whittamore's legendary studio east of Indianapolis, Indiana, USA...everything was done in about 2 takes, and the mix was done the same day, immediately following the recording session...Steve Dokken used a "direct-box" on his bass guitar, and actually played "into the board" direct...John got fantastic results with his prized Oberheim synth (it cost John about $ 5,000, including the interest from 2 bank loans, to get the Oberheim!!!

    Lyrics
Can you look and see in your heart
    What I'm telling you...
Free yourself and make that a start,
    And I will love you...
Simple truths will make you see
    That what I'm telling you
Is for your good and mine, I believe...
And what it's coming to is:

    Long nights and beautiful dreams...
    Two lives formed together...
    Happiness, sharing, and time...
    Giving love forever...
I want to make you see!
