Fantastic jazz-rock composition and theme, with melody played by saxophone and lead guitar, accompanied by funky electric bass and great drums, and tasty keyboards (Rhodes, Oberheim "strings", grand piano), and funky solos on piano, sax, and sizzling electric guitar. This music should be on the radio, and in everyone's home CD collection, to play in the car CD system, and should be the #1 instrumental theme for a major Hollywood movie!! | MP3.com CD: SAMPLER #3: Assorted Originals - buy it! Story Behind the Song
John David Thomas composed this jazz-rock piece in his home in 1979...a funky bass-line came into John's head, followed by sustaining, unusual chords, descending...then, as if by magic, a melodic idea seemed to just "compose itself", and for about the next 10 minutes, John composed the entire "framework" of the music, leaving space in the middle for extended instrumental solos of piano, sax, and guitar...the recording took place in March, 1980 at a pro studio in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA...the music was completed in only 2 takes!! The mixdown was performed the same day as the recording of the 16 tracks on tape.
