Part 1 in a 5 part progressive suite |
CD: Trial By Fire

Story Behind the Song
This is the first part of a 5 part progessive rock tune. It goes through moods of being lonely, trying to find myself, and then to resolve to keep going on. The song has taken some time to put together, as I just couldn't get the right "feel" on the tunes, especially part 3, which is entitled Journey. I'm proud of this work, and hope you enjoy it
Lyrics
I'm on my own again
all alone, again
Standing at the edge of a waterfall,
I'm doing the best I can
Traveling alone, again
On the roam, I am
Looking over the edge of my life
I'm doing the best that I can
A trial by fire
I'm down to the wire
It looks like my pyre
I can't get no higher
Do recall
Nothing at all
Do recall
I'm standing alone again
Over, where I ran
Standing at the edge of a waterfall
I'm doing the best that I can
I saw and I ran
I've written with my hand
Looking at the edge, it's my call
I'm doing the best that I can
A trial by fire
I'm down to the wire
A trial by fire
I'm down to the wire
Do recall
Nothing at all
Do recall.....
I'm down to the wire
I can't get no higher
It looks like my pyre
Do recall
Nothing at all
Do recall
I'm on my own again
Doing the best I can
Standing at the edge of a waterfall
I'm trying the best that I can
Does anybody understand
It's all by my own hand
No matter how hard you try to go
It seems you can never land
A trial by fire
My funeral pyre
I'm down to the wire
I hear the choir
Do recall
Nothing at all
Do recall
I'm on my own again
I'm on my own again........
