Story Behind the Song
I wrote this back in '91, at a time when I had a lot more hair, and was a lot more uptight about the fact that I was losing it. Fortunately, my brother and I have pretty much gotten over it since.
Lyrics
now, when me & my brother, we get together,
do we talk about women, politics, or the weather?
no, losin' our hair, we talk about losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
all our uncles are balding, and some of our aunts,
I guess we should've known that we didn't stand a chance,
losin' our hair, we're losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
now we always prayed we'd dodge that genetic bullet,
whose ever finger held the trigger, why'd they have to go & pull it?
losin' our hair, we're losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
we got a solution, and it wouldn't be hard,
just put a little box for hair on every organ donor card,
losin' our hair, we're losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
now we don't ask for riches, & we don't need a palace,
we just don't want to look like no Telly Savalas, but we're
losin' our hair, we're losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
now, when me & my brother, we get together,
do we talk about women, politics, or the weather?
no, losin' our hair, we talk about losin' our hair,
we're losin' our hair and we're tryin' not to care...
