Everywhere you go these days, cameras follow you - whether it's CCTV in bars and on street corners or satellites in the sky capable of reading your newspaper over your shoulder. Why? And what are you gonna do about it?
CD: A place where no one sails to
Credits: Written by Craig Gittins, arranged by Craig Gittins and Gary Parkinson

    Story Behind the Song
Sometimes you can tell Craig studied philosophy. This one arose out of reading Michel Foucault's theories about governmental control through the methods of communications. But the memorable central image in the chorus is all Craig's own.

    Lyrics
They peer in through the windows
    They listen through the walls
Cos the fear of being watched
Is the greatest fear of all
Theyve got a plan to create a man
    Whos putty in their hands.

    They monitor our movements,
Our moods, our space, our time
    Infiltrate our souls
    Indoctrinate our minds
In the trees there are cameras
    In the skies government satellites.

    But people, listen up
Cos with my string and paper cup
    I listen in to everything
And theyre really scared this time
    Too many people left behind.

    They precondition futures
    Precondition thoughts
    Took away our freedom
    By closing all the doors
    Cos difference equals danger
Take a look at how they crucified our lord.

    But people, listen up
Cos with my string and paper cup
    I listen in to everything
And theyre really scared this time
    Too many people left behind.

    But people, listen up
Cos with my string and paper cup
    I listen in to everything
And theyre really scared this time
    Too many people left behind.
