Utter silliness, a song about how many things you can do to ruin a carpet, written from the point of view of a little girl telling on her older brothers. |
CD: Soap Scum
Credits: Written by Sandy Beckstead and Mary Beth Magallanes |
Story Behind the Song
The first song written as a band, if I recall the ORGAN DONORS band name wasn't even thought up yet at the time. We had barely even started learning how to play our respective instruments, which is why it's so wacky. It was a very hot day and Sandy came up with the idea. We thought we would blow a fuse with two amps and an air conditioner, thankfully, we did not. This particular version was recorded in Seattle without Lisa.
Lyrics
REPEATED PART: Fresh and blue, brand new
And we all knew that you weren't
Stain Resistant
Mommy!
Jimmy just got back from a concert
And he's walking all over the carpet
With his muddy, bloody, Doc Martens
That's okay!
That's okay, that's okay (2x)
We got a heavy duty vacuum
And that's okay
Mommy!
Billy just drank some Clorox Kool-Aid
And he's hurling chunks all over the carpet!
That's okay!
That's okay, that's okay (2x)
We got the carpet cleaner's comin'
And that's okay
Mommy! Mommy! MOOOOOOOOM!
REPEATED PART
Mommy!
Jimmy just drove your car through the living room wall
And he's burning rubber all over the carpet!
That's okay!
That's okay, that's okay (2x)
We got a 3-year warranty
And that's okay
Mommy!
Tommy just split his head open
Doing somersaults down the stairs and he's
Gushing blood all over the carpet!
That's okay!
That's okay, that's okay (2x)
We've got lots of carpet cleaner
And that's okay
Mommy!
I just spilt a drop of water on the carpet
You WHAT?!?!
Repeated part
