The track was originally called "The search for the girl with the sky blue eyes."... but I thought that was a bit clumsy (if anyone has any suggestions - I'm a bit stuck for a name). It has trumpets and latino guitars, and hiphop breaks and trance-style swirls, and certain acid-house influences. It has small children and chimps and spanish women and philosophy... etc etc. - it's all over the place. I suppose you could call it messy, but I'll put it this way: it's fun, funky and intense. |

Story Behind the Song
This is the first ever full-length tune I have made - since I was learning as I went along this took quite a long time, probably around 50 or so hours, I've 'remixed' it twice, which took ages each time, but was definately worth it. I made this with the eJay tracker/sequencer in case you were wondering - which is so easy to use I feel like I've cheated. I got the sampled speech from the internet, the woman is some washed up actress who used to star in a U.S. TV advert for sausages (I wish I could remember where I found it - It's really amusing). In the little bit of sampled speech she is trying to demonstrate that she can do a 'technical' voice, as well as silly and fluffy (I didn't use the fluffy part) - the male voice is a famous (apparently) mathematician... I put in a search for "the meaning of life" and this was amongst the various (some very wierd) suggestions. I used that one because I felt it struck a nice chord.
Lyrics
"...but I don't HAVE to know an answer, I don't feel frightened by not knowing, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly, it doesn't frighten me."
