    Story Behind the Song
This is a story of my great-grandmother Maud L. Hunt. Of her courage in a desperate circumstance, how she joined a "Lonely Hearts Club" correspondence, and met, then later married a farmer from Utah.

    Lyrics
She sent her love from Georgia, she sent her love on a wire
She spoke of her dreams and of finer things, her lonely heart would desire
Left on her own there, 'neath the sothern sky
She walked the road of hard times, from the day her John had died
    Love can bring you home
Love can find you out on your own
    Loneliness and need
In time will bend your knees
Now William was a farmin' man, and a blacksmith in the town
His wife had died and left him, with a hard winter comin' down
Now on his own there, 'neath the western sky
He longed for love, and someone to be there by his side
    Love can bring you home
Love can find you out on your own
    Loneliness and need
In time will bend your knees
Well, eighty-nine years have come and have gone since they here both alone
My grandma joined the lonely hearts, for a new life and a home
William read and fell in love, with his mail order bride
He sent his love to Georgia, she crossed the great divide
    Love can bring you home
Love can find you out on your own
    Loneliness and need
In time will bend your knees
