Shows how man has a basic inability to understand the underserved and unmerited grace, mercy and love of God. When we have made mistakes and fallen into sin it is sometimes hard to believe God can forgive us. But his mercy endures forever and his love never fails. |

Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song after I had just failed God, and had asked him to forgive me. When I felt the warmth of his love and mercy oveshadow me, and knew that he had forgiven me, I was ovewhelmed with one question. WHY? Why would you forgive me when I failed you so terribly? So as I pondered this question WHY? I just started playing and singing my feelings right out of my heart and this is what came out. I always knew the answer was he loved me but"WHY I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND"
Lyrics
VERSE 1: Lord I'm here to seek your face. I need deliverence by your power and your grace. So send the HOLY SPIRIT cloud, let it suround me OH LORD. I know I have a lot of faults. I often faulter and I stumble and fall. Thats why it's hard for me to understand how you can love a man like me. CHORUS: I know you love me, why? I just don't understand I know you love me Lord, why? I just don't understand. I don't understand why? I just don't undestand. VERSE 2: I read within your word again today. how you paid the debt to wash my sins away. How you gave your life upon the tree, just for me to live. When I was yet without stregth you died for me. The chiefest of all sinners to say the least. But scarely for a good man would one die, yet you gave your life for a wretch like me. REPEAT CHORUS TWICE: END. ^^GO BACK UP TO CHORUS^^
