Story Behind the Song
I'm good friends with a married couple. Amarilis,
the wife, is a great singer. We've talked about
doing things, but nothing has really come of it.
Joe, the husband, asked me to write a song
specifically for his wife to sing. She was
pregnant at the time and I immediately came
up with the idea of a woman singing to her
unborn child. I wrote the song that night in
a single feverish burst of creative energy. I
like it so much that I couldn't wait to get it
on my site. I'm hoping to later include a
different version that has Amarilis singing.
