	Story Behind the Song This piano piece is the third in a series of reflective instrumentals intended to encourage us to dwell on the fruits of the Spirit that Paul wrote about in Galatians 5:22. Download this piano melody along with the Wigtune Company instrumental of In the Garden. While listening to them, in that order, allow the gentle electric and Steinway pianos accented by a soft flute and resonate cello to enhance your enjoyment of the following scriptures: For unto us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isa 9:6) Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel praising God and saying, Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests. (Luke 2:13) He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. (Zech 9:10b) Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isa 54:10) You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst in song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (Isa 55:12) Without warning , a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, Lord, save us! Were going to drown! He replied, You of little faith, why are you so afraid? (Matt 8:23-26a) He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, Quiet! Be still! then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:39) When he came near the place where the road goes down to the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! (Luke 19:37-38) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ, through which we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. (Rom 5:1-2a) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself and new man out of the two, this making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. (Eph 2: 13-16) . . .make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him. (II Pet 3:14b) Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. (Ps 85:10) The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. (Isa 32:17) Be still before the Lord and wait patiently on Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret -- it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. (Ps 37:7-11) You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. (Isa 26:3) The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace. (Ps 29:11) A heart of peace gives life to the body. . . (Pr 14:30a) Great peace have they who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble. (PS 119:165) Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. (Isa 57:2) God has called us to live in peace. (I Cor 7:15b) For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. (I Cor 14:33) . . .the wisdom that comes from heaven in first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:17-18) Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. (I Pet 3:8-11) Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you (II Cor 13:11b) When a mans ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him. (Pr 16:7) Do not repay evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written, It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. (Rom 12:17-19) Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. (Rom 14:19) Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Heb 12:14) Turn from evil and do good: seek peace and pursue it. (Ps 34:14) . . .be at peace with each other. (Mark 9:50b) The mind of the sinner is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. . . (Rom 8:6) There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. . .a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. (Pr 3:1,8) If only you had paid attention to My commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. There is no peace. says the Lord, for the wicked. (Isa 48: 18, 22) They dress the wound of My people as though it were not serious. Peace, peace, they say, when there is no peace. (Jer 6:14) Now, brothers, about the times and dates we do not need to write you, for you know that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying Peace and safety, destruction will come upon them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (I Thess 5:1-3) Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (Matt 10:34) There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the gentile. For God does not show favoritism. (Rom 2:9-11) I urge , then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone -- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (I Tim 2:1-2) The wolf will lie with the lamb. . .They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the water cover the sea. (Isa 11:6a, 9) Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. (II Tim 2:22) . . .God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (Heb 12:10b-11) He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. And they will live securely, for then His greatness will reach the ends of the earth. And He will be their peace. (Micah 5:4) How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, You God reigns! (Isa 52:7) Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace. (Ps 37:37) Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (Jn 14:27) I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the word. (Jn 16:33) . . .love truth and peace. (Zech 8:19b) Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. (II Thess 3:16a) May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen (Heb 13:20-21)
