Story Behind the Song
This song is inspired by "The Twilight Zone"
episode titled "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" and
told from the perspective of the passenger
(played by William Shatner) who the only person
able to see and exterminate the monster on the
plane wing.
Lyrics
Ridin' the winds
through the clouds in the sky,
tell me what do you see,
outside the window
I see something there,
that is frightening me.
I see a form in the night,
its face is looking at me,
the others say it's alright,
why can't they see, what I see.
I wonder how
it stays out of sight,
when I see him so clear,
the others don't
know that he's on our flight
and it's bringing me fear.
Listen to me
when I tell you my tale,
for I know that it's true,
you don't believe
not a word I say,
so I know what to do.
I see a form in the night,
its face is looking at me,
the others thought that it was alright,
yeah, they thought it was me,
they refused to believe,
that we could fall,
so I fired all six shots
and I saved, and I saved us all!
