Story Behind the Song
This was an instrumental I put together when I moved back to Denver from California. I was big on the acid jazz thing, and a friend of mine told me that the first thing I needed to do when I got back to Colorado was to write a song called "Flipside in the Ghetto," hence the title. This was also the first song I got to do any playing or improvising with a Tenor sax; it was a loaner from a friend, hardly playable, so the only way I could really get it to sing was to honk on it like an old Boots Randolph album.
