Story Behind the Song
Written about a woman (like so many other blues songs). In the spirit of Robert Johnson's "Kindhearted Woman," this song was written more to get a smile out of a woman than to complain about being mistreated.
Lyrics
My Sweet baby, she got honey runnin' through her veins (2X)
Those salty women, they're just not the same.
Those downtown women, I tell you they can't compete (2X)
When I see them, I know my sweet baby's for me.
When I worry, I know she's right by my side(2x)
I'm never lonely, I'm never disatisfied.
She treat me so good, I fight to keep the tears in my eyes (2x)
If she ever were to leave me, I do believe that I might die.
When I think of rambling and I hear that train whistle moan (2x)
I picture her pretty face and my feets they turn on back home.
My pretty baby, she's got honey runnin' through her veins(2x)
I've seen the others, man you'll never hear me complain.
