Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song just to make it rhymes. It came out to be everybody's favorite. If you are from Alabama and you have a girlfriend from Oklahoma, then this song is for you.
Lyrics
Longest Time
When I was a young boy
From Alabama
I met the girl who's
From Oklahoma
And then one day
We have to fly back to our home
Boy, I still miss her
For the longest time
Five years later
I go see my grand pa
I met the girl who's
From Oklahoma
She waves at me
And she walks toward me
She said, "hey, I still miss you
For the longest time"
That one day under the bright blue sky
Her blonde hair and her blue eyes
She took my heart and went far far away
Left me standing there with nothing to say
For the longest time
Time past by
Like leaves fall off the trees
Fifty three letters
She wrote back to me
To answer my question
That I always ask her
She said, "yes, I still miss you
For the longest time"
That one day under the bright blue sky
Her blonde hair and her blue eyes
She took my heart and went far far away
Left me standing there with nothing to say
For the longest time
Then one day
On the way to Oklahoma
Someone yells
"Hey, how to get to Alabama!"
I look and smile
And she smiles back at me
I said, "hey, I still miss you
For the longest time"
