Story Behind the Song
The impetus for this piece was actually an award from the American Composers Forum. This award stipulated a "collaboration" between any two artists. I chose performer Johnny Reinhard, the premier microtonalist... I let Johnny choose the tuning system for this one -- he wanted 1/8 tones, and he even suggested the title... something I would generally never let anyone do.
