Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in October 1996 to finish off a relationship. Although
this song may be a little depressing it has a great tune
and one that I love to play. Certainly in my own top 5 favorites.
Lyrics
People may say, love comes and love goes,
but where does it go?
I feel hurting, in my heart
where love once had been.
But by itself, so innocent so true
by a woman this man was torn in two.
I've been ruined for the rest of my life.
so young and thoughtless help me spare the knife.
God I am helpless, my life's in your hands.
If you wish give me a woman,
but don't let her hurt this man.
What did you mean when you said you'd stay?
You're not here today.
I guess I don't know what staying means,
since you're not here.
I must move, but what direction where to?
Will that road lead right back to you?
Remember that night next to my bed?
Do you remember what you said?
If you don't I still do, you said... "I Love You!"
My heart was broke; it still hurts this day.
It's been aching for weeks.
I need someone to mend it,
but who is that girl?
I need to know.
If not right now then when?
Will I love her or will she be just a friend?
