	Story Behind the Song I wrote this on a plane, returning from San Francisco when I visited in March of 1997. It was the first time I'd seen San Francisco, and that week convinced me to move to California. Lyrics Although the scrim is simply beautiful, you look too gauzy to truly impress. When I shoot out the footlights, I'm crawling up the balcony to hand you a rosy bouquet. I must assure you it's purely innocent. The pancake masks the basking beauty of your Sunday-bathed figure in a Saturday dress.
