	Story Behind the Song It was deep in the Valley of the Moon, a gigantic full Moon lit up the evening sky. As the young traveler walked along the trail, he began to hear a melody that was unlike any other he had ever heard before. He saw an old man sitting on a rock, the strange music emanating from his multi-stringed instrument. "What song is this that you are playing?" interrupted the young man. "I've never heard this music before!" There was a brief silence. "Song?" replied the old man calmly. "Oh no, I'm just playing for the moon." This song was composed and recorded simultaneously, live, in one take, with no over dubs or inserts. There is only one instrument being played on this recording; John Morgan Newbern's acoustic 12-string Guitarra de Maya
