It disturbs me more and more everyday when I see families breaking up. There are too many children without fathers or mothers to share their lives. More times than not, for whatever reason, it is the fathers that are left out. I wrote this song about just that, a father that is trying to deal with the lack of time he has with the son that he loves so much. | MP3.com CD: It's Just A Matter of Time - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
This song was born on a tractor. By that I mean I wrote the lyrics one Sunday while I was settin on a tractor workin. I was tryin to think of something that people could really relate to, and unfortunately there are more and more broken homes these days. I have had many people relate their stories to me after hearin this song, so I am very happy with that. This song is one of my favorites. ~Mitch~
Lyrics
DADDYS GOTTA GO
Here I am on my knees again alone
Beside an empty bed in a house once called home,
Askin could someone watch over him
And give me strength til I see him again.
Hes just a boy and he cant understand
Why he and mama, cant live with dad,
It hurts like hell when we come face to face
Cause I know way too soon its time to say.
Daddys gotta go, but Ill be back soon
Mind your mom dont fuss or fight
Say your prayers and do whats right
Its okay to cry when Daddys gotta go
In the short time that we have I do the best I can
To show him what it means, to be a man,
At times its tough, hes even seen me cry
And its harder when I have to say good bye
Daddys gotta go, but Ill be back soon
Mind your mom dont fuss or fight
Say your prayers and do whats right
Its okay to cry when Daddys gotta go
but Ill be back soon
Mind your mom dont fuss or fight
Say your prayers and do whats right
Its okay to cry when Daddys gotta go
