    Story Behind the Song
This song is a basically a book report on Ernest Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises." Pages has the dubious honor of being the very first Faradays recording. This pop ode to one of the greatest American writers was cut in one or two takes in the summer of 1999. Perhaps more takes would have been prudent, but our "studio" was actually my apartment and the neighbors couldn't handle anymore.

    Lyrics
he fell in love with the moment that he saw her and not the woman that he saw. he could never tell the difference. and she put him in her pocket. she can see it in his eyes: she knows that he's a broken man. but he always goes along, he says he'll be alright.

lady brett when you walked in the room and you smiled, i threw my hands in the air put my head on the bar and i said aloud: 'please don't turn the page. please don't turn the page on me.'

she took him to the countryside in spain. she told him it was just this once, but he really thought that it would last. he thought that he could change her mind; he thought that he could care enough, but he didn't see that he was blind.

lady brett when you walked in the room and you smiled, i threw my hands in the air put my head on the bar and i said aloud: 'please don't turn the page. please don't turn the page on me.'

you turn around to find the one who longs to be with you. you know it's not how it's to be for me to be with you. you turn around to find the one who longs to be with you. so nice to know that i'm the one who'd die to be with you.

lady brett when you walked in the room and you smiled, i threw my hands in the air put my head on the bar and i said aloud: 'please don't turn the page. please don't turn the page on me.'

and what of me? that's a funny story. it's funny how it works sometimes. how we always laugh aloud to hide the pain inside.

lady brett when you walked in the room and you smiled, i threw my hands in the air put my head on the bar and i said aloud: 'please don't turn the page. please don't turn the page on me.'
