    Story Behind the Song
A description of a neighborhood in Baltimore.
The song came after The Stalker, written in anger at being robbed...I was angry I spent years in Remington.
The music was put down first in a power chord/Ramones style. The original take served as the base...we worked on it for about a month in 1998.

    Lyrics
    REMINGTON
    I lived inside of Remington
a neighborhood named like a gun
    disfunction within every house
in every room the neighbors shout
little kids are up all night
    watching screaming drunken fights
boyfriends beat on girls who cuss
    in every sentence toilets flush
    mommy is teenager
    and daddy drinks a weekender
shirtless man throws bricks at cops
from the rooftops of my block
    needles in the gutter trash
burned out car just sits in ash
kids huff glue on playground swings
    litter covers everything
    live ammunition in the road
    mispelled graffitti morons wrote
    dirtballs selling stolen goods
to buy more drugs from corner hoods
breaking in a house to get
    just a pack of cigarettes
    juvenilles who egg a door
    eventually get two to four
spend a few months in and then
    back to good old Remington
    women whoring days and night
to men who stop at traffic lights
the wailing sirens of a cop
come every day, it never stops
    peel out tires, barking dogs
the people look like walking hogs
junk food is a mainstay crop
they eat it til their stomachs pop
rifle holding man at the door
    pistol shoved into his drawers
    skinny deadbeats heat their spoons
    lunatics howl at the moon
alley rats are in the cellar
have to kill the little fellers
inside the house insest is worse
    racists rival Bensonhurst
living in a place too long
get too used to whats gone wrong
    slow decay behind the bricks
nothing that a bomb wont fix

    This is Remington
cheaper rent dont cut it son
cheaper rent dont cut it son
    (repeat)
    This is America
a city that breeds instead of reads
a city that breeds instead of reads
