I used to work for a fortune 500 credit card company named MBNA. This song is about saying screw it to working these jobs that have no meaning. Do what you love, don't settle on a job just for the money, You HAVE to do what you genuinly love to do. NO EXCEPTOINS!! |

Story Behind the Song
Well, I was supposed to be working at MTV doing a paid iternship there while I was at school. But at the same time I had applyed for this job at MBNA, a credit card company. I was only 18 at the time and starting pay was just about $30,000 a year, and at 18, single, and not even a car bill, that was a lot of money. So they called me up and said that I got the job. So I started it and no doubt I was doing great. All my supervisors loved me and I have to admit it was a very nice place to work. Like I said though, I was 18 with no bills and making 30 grand a year. It was time to get some cool stuff. So I went crazy this summer of '99, I bought a 1995 BMW for about $20,000 and if that wasn't enough I then bought a brand new '99 Yellow Ducati motorcycle for $9,000. Now there I felt like NOW I had something to work for. Yeah!! I definitly did. I felt like that was the only thing I was working 14 hours a day for. I started to ask myself if it was really worth it, I was a musician, going to music college, still performing when I could, and here I was dressing up in a suit and a tie every day making millions of dollars for a company that already had to many millions. So one day I said forget it. I'M WALKING. I didn't tell ANYONE in my town where I was going and I just started to walk. So I parked my Bimmer and Motorcycle at a local bank in mid-coast Maine and started to hitch hike. In only 4 hours I was in Boston again. So I decided to go to south station and see how much a ticket would be to go far away. I didn't know where I wanted to go I just new far. So I decided on Miami FL. WHEW. What a decision. 3 day non-stop bus ride from Boston to Miami. Anyways I only ended up stay a week and then taking that bus ride home again to go fix things up. So I sold the car (took the loss), sold the bike (took the loss), and broke up with my girl, and said screw it to everyone. There was only one thing I wanted to do and that was Rap. So I ended up hooking up with my now producer and great friend Glen and helped him build a new studio. When it was finally done shortly after this whole mess, I practically moved in and started recording endlessly all my music. The name of the studio was and still isSunset House Studio which also prompted the name of my album, Sleepless at Sunset.
