Story Behind the Song
Christian Family Worship Center in Suth Florida was comletely destroyed during Hurricane Andrew. Even the foundation had to be removed. The years to follow until rebuilding could CFWC to move into a Church home, the church met at various schools. CFWC quickly learned how to set up quick and developed a tremendous appreciation for the privilage of having a Sanctuary to worship in but also learned that we can worship anywhere. God, the Father, is Omnipresent. Alfanzo wrote this song in the midst of those trying years.
Lyrics
We've Come to the Sanctuary
We've come to the sanctuary
the dwelling place of our God,
to paraise and adore Him with
all of our hearts.
We've come to the sanctuary,
the swelling place of the lamb,
the alpha and omega, the mighty God the great I Am.
(CH)
Lift up your hands (voice) in the sanctuary
and praise His Holy name.
Yesterday and today He's forever the same.
Lift up your hands (voice) in the sanctuary
let's praise Him alone. For as He is, we
shall be in our eternal home.
We are the sanctuary, the Holy Spirit is He.
He's indwelling everyone of us who are called
to draw near. We are the sanctuary, the redeemed of the Lord.
Bought by the blood of Jesus, reconciled
to our God.
