Story Behind the Song
This song was originally a poem that Andre used for his spoken word material. It was interesting to me and Andre had a concept for a musical version of it. After it was worked out, we decided to use a drum machine to give a rigid and mechanical feel to the song relating to the lyrics. The last sections turn the technical/military/mechanical feel of the song to primative/revolutionary/angry feel ushered by the live drums and conga.
