If this piece sounds familiar, it is because the BBC uses it for their Masterpiece Theatre series. This arrangement shows off various trumpet stops. | MP3.com CD: ¤Virtually Baroque Vol. 1 - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
Jean Joseph Mouret (1682-1738) As director of the Concert Spirituel in Paris, he composed a
great deal of music for chorus and orchestra and for orchestra alone. Directing such a company is
a study in insanity anyway; the company failed in 1734, Mouret lost his various positions, and at
the end went quietly crazy. Charenton, where he died, is the seat of the famous insane asylum.
His work established the French Baroque orchestral tradition
This was from my repertoire of wedding marches and is a
real crowd pleaser. Though I had entered the notes
a year or so go, it still took a few hours to
phrase and register it.
