	Story Behind the Song Ok.. this is a long story.. but a true story. I had the music to this song for like forever, and couldn't come up with any lyrics for it. I spent a lot of time just listening to it in my car and at home trying to figure it out. One day I was taking my sister to a friends house and on the way home the lyrics just started pouring out. I raced home to put them down on paper. The first thing I found was a tiny note pad by the phone... but I scribbled all that had come to me on that. The only thing was... I had no idea what any of it meant. I told my mom about it and she is a very heavy believer in prayer (as am I through her) and told me that maybe I should pray about it. Maybe it was a gift from God. Ok.. I know what you are saying... that is wacky.. believe what you will... but I did and it came to me. It was about a girl named Karen who used to go to my school. I didn't know her or anything and didn't really know the circumstances, but I figured that I was just subconciously using her in the song. Well I told my mom all about it and she told a friend of hers in her prayer group. Well the woman was close friends with Karen's family and she told them about it. Next thing I know they are calling me up and asking me to sing this song at her birthday party that they have for her every year. Now this is freaky. I went with my friend Bob to the Birthday party and play this in front of her and her family. In the chorus it says "Karen wake up". And when she did Karen lept forward in her seat and I crapped my pants! She didn't really wake up but just occasionally chokes a little on her saliva. I was totally freaked. Anyway when the song was over her family was all crying. Her mom asked for the lyric sheet and explained the whole song to me. At about the same time that the lyics mysteriously came to me... Her mom had a dream where Karen was telling these things to her. I didn't know what to say. Anyway, If I never do another thing with music... I will always carry that with me for my whole life.
