Story Behind the Song
"Taking It All Away (Quitandolo" describes the experience of Singer/Songwriter Victor Garcia-Rivera's family in their forced exile from Cuba to the USA. The lyric chronicles the anguish and pain forced upon a family that is told to "pack up your bags, and pack up your dreams". Forced repatriation, the loss of home, jobs, possesion, family contacts, and even one's own way of life are expressed in this two and a half minute sonic blast. Garcia-Rivera effectively uses the punk medium to channel his anger.
