Story Behind the Song
It reminds me of a couple of things. First,
the layering of the verses/choruses forwards and
backwards makes a kind of Burroughsian text
manipulation intended to reveal new meanings.
Case in point: the backwards vocals originally
belonged to Caleb, but instead he sounds like
Taylor, saying "Ow, shut up!" right at the
ending. This was just a happy accident.
