Story Behind the Song
The unfinished lyrics start to tell about
my love of Brazilian music, especially samba
and bossa nova. It's a long tune, so I ran out
of ideas for lyrics. I can't sing anyway, but
it was fun to think this through. The lyrics are
a little silly, but I don't mind playing the
fool for this music I love.
Lyrics
Life has been good to me, I am happy every day.
I never thought that I would ever want to fly away.
But when I heard the bossa nova it was such a thrill
That now I want to go down to Brazil!
It was years ago they brought the bossa nova to L.A.
And I was on the beach at Santa Monica that day.
I saw The Girl from Ipanema walking by the sea,
And then I knew the samba was for me.
...anybody want to finish the song?...
*****************
faz qualquer um querem terminar a canção?...
