    Story Behind the Song
Strangely enough, the song title and it's meaning was taken from a line in the UK comedy show "Blackadder". In one of the episodes Baldrick, cradling a "dying" Prince George and looking up at the stars says "somewhere out there, by the little pixie there is a new star tonight". The song took upon these lines and updated the situation to modern times. You need to read into the lyrics to understand the true meaning of the song.

The day you left my world fell apart
You'd been there for me right from the start
Couldn't let you go, I couldn't make you stay
Precious thoughts are all that remain
    So sad so sad
Letting go of all that I ever had
No words could explain or take away the pain
Knowing I will never see you again

    Chorus

Somewhere. There's a star shining bright in the sky
And it's calling out my name
My Love. So deep in the night
    Oh! Somewhere out there

    Memories. Fading
Like the rose that only blooms in the spring
Waiting for the sun but all I see is rain
Knowing I will never see you again.
