Story Behind the Song
Daybreak grew from a musical "doodle" into a twenty four hour representation of an existentialist. That special tree, outside my studio window was in full autumn glory. (I promise, it was only once, and I didn't inhale)The sunrise was spectacular and motivational. The opening represents an awakening, a yawn, and a greeting to the majesty of the dawn. The main theme is reiterated in the many moods and progressions of the sun throughout its march from horizon to horizon. The evenings festivities give way to a somewhat inebriated march to a subsequent daybreak. (Represented by the pervasive theme played backwards, and a final yawn!) Hopefully, not symbolic!
