In From The Country Michael Brennan spins a tale of backwoods simplicity clashing with big city slickerness in this solid country rocker. In typical picturesque fashion Brennan weaves his tale to the backdrop of a 70's era country rocker. Cowbell and all. |

Story Behind the Song
"I was actually spending all day making hay for my sister's horses back home," Brennan recalls.
"And I came back to the house in a great mood. I grabbed my guitar and started
banging out a blues progression."
Soon Brennan began working with the "making hay every day" line and was hooked.
"I got that line straight off," he says, "the rest was finished here in Toronto."
Lyrics
From The Country
There's a big highway runs by my door
They call it a street, must be 8 lanes or more
I'm from the country, can't get used to these city ways
I'm stuck here now but I'll be going home some day
Everyone talks about the glittering lights
Stars everywhere, guess they don't come out at night
I'm from the country, can't get used to these city ways
I'm stuck here now but I'll be going home some day
Chorus
I'm from the country, you can't urbanize
this country boy or pacify
My country ways, I should be making hay, everyday
Yes,I'm from the country
I say hello to everyone I meet
I heard someone whisper "He's a nut or a creep"
I'm from the country, can't get used to these city ways
I'm stuck here now but I'll be going home some day
Chorus
There's so-cal and noveau ciusine
Give me biscuits and my grandpa's beans
I'm from the country, can't get used to these city ways
I'm stuck here now but I'll be going home some day
Chorus
