The story of Margaret's Museum adapted to music; A Great Canadian Movie...

    Story Behind the Song
I think the inspiration for this was
listening back to some mumbled ramblings
of Carl's during the writing process for
the music in 'Albatross'. I was listening
back and caught a little phrase about
Margaret's Museum being a reflection of
    reality...or something like that. Being
a big fan of the movie, and a proud Canadian,
I bothered him for months, and he came up
with these lyrics; somehow the whole song
just banged together after that, and with
some arranging we put together what you hear.

    Lyrics
The coal mine settles in and the map highlits this town. The blackened sheath disguise and the headlights shine on down. Her mother disapproves of the man thats drinkin booze, the memories of her love have left her torn and bruised.

Denial leads to mourn as the siren sounds once more. Clinging to a thread in the hopes that they're not dead. I told you once before about the coal and it's debt. She admits the dead are just screwin up her head.

Maggie's picklin yeah for the grand opening

On the day her time was payed the wind was blowin down. Her museum stood at the edge of a coalmine town. The voices from the see will haunt her memory. The piper plays no more as the waves crash on the floor.

Maggie's picklin yeah for the grand opening.
