Story Behind the Song
This song was written about 2 years ago and kept on the shelf until I could really concentrate on it, though I had not worked with it much, it was always on my mind.
I have done a lot of thinking about this song. How exactly to do the lead line. The basic lead was always the same as was the ending but the middle parts took a lot of time.
I recorded the lead after about 20 takes. The slowing pace at the end was tougher to do than I thought it would be.
This song means a great deal to me. I believe it is some of my prettiest work, so I'm very proud of it.
The name, Del Sempiagro, just jumped out at me when I was trying to decide what to name it. The words are meaningless as far as any translators have told me (Spanish, Portugese, Italian, Latin).
Also note, this is the first song I have used a bass line in. That was done with my handy little Boss DR-5 Dr. Rhythm. I played the bass line in real time, punching the buttons for the notes. What fun!
