Story Behind the Song
"Changing Again" was originally written for a rock musical in 1990 in which the main character realizes that he isn't fooling anyone anymore with his fake persona. The song was cut and shelved for the stage version. It was revived in 1997 for the dark theme album "A False Sense of Security", an album that took about six months to record at NRS Studios in Hurley, NY. This was my first vocal take; I had the flu but liked the sound of my voice.
Lyrics
Changes in the heart
Changes in the mind
Lies that you left behind
Lost somewhere in a different time
Changes in the mind
Changes in the soul
Truths will make you whole
Found somewhere in a different time
Changes come, changes go
Changes that we値l never show
I知 changing, I知 changing again
So you try to change yourself
A little bit every day
Looking for the truth
But something痴 getting in your way
I try to reach deep inside
But it痴 empty every time
Tell me what you used to be
Or are you only make-believe ?
Changes come, changes go
Changes that we値l never show
I知 changing, I知 changing again
I知 not the same man I was this time yesterday
I知 not the same man I was this time yesterday
Changes, changes, changes
Changes in the heart
Changes in the mind
Lies that you left behind
Lost somewhere in a different time, time, time・
