No respect! An uptempo song in the tradition of...Itīs 2 guitars, bass and drums... and vocals, of course.
    CD: Homestories
Credits: Music: Ingolf Pencz Lyrics: Ingolf Pencz/Roni Zucker

    Story Behind the Song
BLOW THE WHISTLE is a song about the spirit of the ancient seafarers with their curiosity to find a better world than Europe in the Middle Ages, and how it was all spoiled by the church and the responsible people in politics trying to make only money out of it, refusing the chance to actually learn from a new culture but bringing out their „mission“ only.
Iīm aware that this might be a naive picture but: SO WHAT?
Itīs also a picture and example of .... well make your own film...

    Lyrics
    BLOW THE WHISTLE (Pencz-Zucker)

    1)
Can you hear the trumpets calling?
Is every single man aboard? (aboard)
Weīll be off, bound for the future
In the name of our Lord
Weīre not afraid of death and devil
And wonīt give up until we win (we win)
    Never mind the heavy weather
And stick together through thick and thin, yeah

    Chorus
Blow the whistle, beat the drum
Wake up every man in town
Come and join us men of courage
Blow the whistle, beat the drum
Wake up every man in town
Come and join us men of courage
When weīre sailing for, sailing for
    King and crown

    2)
We sent you tea and golden apples
To make achievements for all mankind (mankind)
    Runaways from the Middle-Ages
Hoping for a better world to find
Donīt even mention politics (Donīt give up)
The leaders must be lunatics (Donīt give up)
    So blow (Donīt give up)
For too many of the good spirits died abroad

    Chorus

    Middle Eight
All good intentions were spoiled by greed
And the candles were all lit
Sailing down the edge of the world to feel sad
    Seafarers turned into crusaders
We took the treasures bit by bit
Sailing down the edge of the world all the good things turned too bad
    Itīs too bad

    Chorus
