Story Behind the Song
This one was writtend for my wife Denise. Live version has more of a rock and roll groove. We used this song to close our live performances. Originally recorded on 16 track analog tape, then digitally mastered with Wavelab.
Lyrics
Well I fell in love when much too young in the tender years,
And it burned with fire and flame and smoke and drowned in tears,
When she let me go I knew I'd never be the same,
Untill you came by and showed me how the game is played,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes me what I am,
It's you that taught me how to live again,
In the twists and turns success and ruins that love can take,
We make the plans the moves the risks that roll our fate,
Well despite ourselves some happiness still finds us out,
That's this game that we call life is all about,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes me what I am,
It's you that taught me how to live again,
Not been too much to my exsistence,
I just move on with the sun's last rays,
Love always meets with some resistance,
But ous keep on hol'in on and on,
I can feel it grow'in strong and strong,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes me what I am,
It's you that taught me how to live again,
There's a time when fear can still ontain a grip on me,
And it takes the tricks of all I've learned to set me free,
Well i guess we'll find they'll always be a price to pay,
To bide our time until love can chase those blues away,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes,
Well it's you that makes me what I am,
It's you that taught me how to live again,
