Story Behind the Song
We now visit the Metropolis at it's "high point" we hear the hustle and bustle of city life, the cars, the people, the sirens. we start out with a very up beat beginning that is slightly melancholy, still touched by the events that took place at the end of "Metropolis I", however overall the feeling is "upbeat". Once again we hear Dr King with hope in his voice: "I still have a dream...". However by the mid section the song falls into more sadness as the problems of the inner cities become more and more evident. This decays into more and more chaos by the end of the song, foreshadowing what is to come in "Metropolis III". The various drums heard throughout the piece show different walks of life, and how they interact and relate to one another.
