Story Behind the Song
This song is about someone I underestimated. It's about a sort of Karmic idea that those who do harm will in turn get theirs in the end. Perhaps it's a pipedream, but it provides some solice to the rest of us. In this case, the person about whom this song was written did the right thing in the end - and now it functions like a coat that I put onto anyone who acts in a hurtful manner. Give it a listen, and think about some jerk who appears to be "getting away with it!"
Lyrics
Broken bones are the best you'll get,
For stealing from your only friends.
And guilty hands will at last be whipped.
Justice will be served in the end.
What's left for you will be tragedy.
So don't be amazed,
When your luck runs out,
And I'm not around.
You can't stop the sound,
Of time running out.
It's summer's end and the crops are in,
But winter's fruits are far & thin.
With mine included there's more for you.
Feed yourself, and no one else -
Trading lives for your private gain.
So don't be amazed,
To find life is fair,
And that no one cares,
That the lonely sound you'll hear is,
Time running out.
