Story Behind the Song
Sometimes songs just come together. While Matt Jacquette was across country, Mike Smith and Chris O'Brien sat on the front porch on a beautiful spring afternoon. Smitty came up with the base line for this poppy funk song and the rest is history. The lyrics, spawned by the dark realms of Matt Davey's mind is another song about being famous. Only this time, there is a girl involved.
Lyrics
Chrous:
Shake me sugar, sugar shake me please
Take me further, further I do need
Make me certain, certain as can be
I should've known better
Verse:
She was the only freindly face I saw
After the show, we went up to the bar
Please tell me if you think I've gone too far
Outrageous, our story in the Morning Starr
Chorus
I should've known that she'd be trouble from the start
She reached in and grabbed a hold on my heart
We built a love that you could'nt tear apart
Cupid's Arrow; poison tipped with a dart
Break-Down:
It was our only set
I was feeling desperate
The crowd wasn't diggin in
Although we hadn't met
She was my favorite
And she inspired me to sing
Verse:
She was the only friendly face I saw
After the show, we went up to the bar
Please tell me if you think I've gone too far
Outrageous, our story in the Morning Starr
Chorus
