Story Behind the Song
This one began as something completely different. I know, they often do. The verse was the same but the chorus, and title of the song, was "We're the Neo Romantics". It was too cheesy, and didn't pack enough of a punch coming off the driving verse and verse bridge.
So, Willie ran a few options past Rick. The "C'mon" chant stuck. With friend Flexx Martinez (from Apples & Oranges) providing a wicked guitar solo the song became the band's follow-up to "Voices in Your Head" for Columbia Records in March of 1990. The song spent eight weeks on the Billboard Dance Chart, topping out at #35.
Lyrics
Written By Willie Cleer, Rick Munarriz, Haydee, Lewis Martinee
It's a time, it's a place for a lover's game
It's a choice what can we do
Drink the wine, staring eyes, for a new tomorrow
Don't you know we're the neo romantics
Hey, don't you know
The feeling's so unreal
C'mon & Dance With Me
It's not just a dream you see
Maybe your fantasy
C'mon & Dance With Me
C'mon & Dance With Me
Eye to Eye, Heart to Heart on a Rainy Day
Take a chance and get away
Come with me and escape to a new tomorrow
Don't you know we're the neo romantics
Hey, don't you know
The feeling's so unreal
C'mon & Dance With Me
It's not just a dream you see
Maybe your fantasy
C'mon & Dance With Me
C'mon & Dance With Me
