	Story Behind the Song This song is about a guy that comes back to his home town after being away for a while and finds that everything has changed and he is no longer welcome... Lyrics I was walkin' along the boardwalk In this little bitty town of mine. The men, they didn't look to friendly But the girls, they sure looked fine! That's when I walked into the Bar Room Lookin' for a real good time! I ordered up a Gin and Soda Three guys approached me from behind. They said "Now tell us where you come from... And you'd better make it good!" Said, "I'm a little to the left of Country, But to the right of Hollywood." I said,"Hey boys what's the problem?" "Am I a little bit out of line?" He said that, "You might not belong here, And your clothes don't look like mine." Well I turned around and kept on drinkin' That's when they jumped me from behind... He said, "Around here I'm called the Hangman, And I sure know how to hold a grudge!" "If I ever hear that you're back here," "You'll be payin' more than just a fine!"
